Retreat Day

“The God of Surprises”

A Retreat Day at the Bridgettine Guest House, Iver Heath.

March 11th 2017

10am for 10.30am start til 3.30pm

Who is God for you?  How do you know him?  And how does God feel about you?  The aim of this day is to give us some quiet space in which to meet God, possibly in unexpected ways and new places; our God of Surprises.

The day which will be largely silent, will be built around two sessions, one in the morning, one after lunch.  The sessions work together so it is good if you can stay for the whole day.  At the beginning of each session there will be input from the retreat leader and then space for you to go and spend some time alone with God.  There will be resources to help and support you.  We will end the day by coming together and sharing as much or as little as we want.

The day will start at 10am for those who want coffee and then the first session will begin promptly at 10.30am.  We will have a break for lunch (bring your own sandwiches, drinks will be provided) and then the afternoon session, aiming to finish by 3.30pm.

Beautiful Black Park is just across the road from our retreat venue, so there is plenty of space outside in which to walk, as well as a beautiful chapel on site.

Revd Canon Alison Christian is our retreat leader for the day.  As Warden of Launde Abbey, a retreat house in the beautiful Leicestershire countryside, Alison has spent the last four years leading retreats and Quiet Days.  Before that she was a parish priest in the Willesden area since 1994.  She co-designed and co-led the Dioceses of Leicester and Peterborough’s Spiritual Direction course and has over twenty years experience as a spiritual director.

The cost for the day will be £15.00

Please bring your own sandwiches for lunch, drinks will be provided throughout the day.

It is hoped that everyone can be transported from St Andrew’s to Iver Heath in private cars.

Please contact Sue Broatch (0208 864 0828) if you would like to attend and also indicate whether you need or can give a lift to someone else.
